Excerpt from Director’s Note:
“I’e come to a sort of realization that the holidays are kind of like the theater. To honor our religious beliefs and celebrate our family and friends, we create a holiday ritual in much the same way we create a theater event. We dress the ‘set’ with meaningful objects and sparkly things. We revisit the stories of cherished characters. And don’t forget the sound and lighting:
carols and bulbs and candles, oh my! Those of us who do theater know that the best work comes from true collaboration. We all bring our different ideas, different skills, different visions to the table and the result is a bit of magic created not by one person, but as a collective. I hope this play inspires you to take a look around the stage of your own holiday gathering so that you can create a bit of holiday magic with your own chosen community.”
Press Quotes:
“Expect laughs, a few tears and reminders to take it easy on one another for the holidays… the three carolers, through song and sound effects, maintain comedic relief throughout the two-hour production.” — Bob Conrad, This Is Reno
“A brand-new comedy that explores the angst of going home for the holidays… characters that are bigger than life, driven by a director willing to lean completely into the ridiculous and dysfunctional paths to family forgiveness.” — Jessica Santina, Reno News & Review
